About My Role

Since founding Silverstone Composites in 2016, Marcus has driven significant growth, championing teamwork and motivating staff to achieve top-tier component standards. He’s deeply involved in research and development, ensuring we stay updated with the latest tech innovations in manufacturing. Moreover, Marcus’ knack for innovative solutions makes him adept at tackling complex challenges.

Outside of Work

Marcus is a motorsport enthusiast and avid follower of F1, emulating his racing heroes at DTO Track Days in a McLaren 570 GT4, BMW2 or a G56 GTA. Another interest outside of work is Rugby.

Gemma Trofimov

Financial Director

About My Role

• Manages and oversees all company financial operations, including year-end accounts.
• Successfully implemented and manages a new HR software system.
• Active business partner with Silverstone Parks’ annual Schools Programme.
• Organises and conducts educational factory tours for Year 8 & 9 students.
• Offers insightful Q&A sessions, sharing her expertise in business operations.

Outside of Work

Gemma is a dedicated mother of three and serves as the Treasurer for her local primary school’s PTA group, keeping her constantly on the move. While she foresees more personal time as her children grow, she currently cherishes attending social events, diving into weekly boot camps and ‘Clubbercise’ classes, and relishing holidays where she can unwind poolside with a book, watching her family enjoy the water.

Buddy

General Dogs Body

About My Role

Buddy is just over two in doggy years and twenty-four in human years. Buddy is the office flirt and has lots of love to give and always wants to be the centre of attention. Buddy is always on the hunt for cuddles from visitors and other team members and is pawfect for the role of therapy dog, bringing calm and happiness to the workplace

Outside of Work

Buddy goes by the name ‘Bud’, hangs out at football grounds, loves animal documentaries, and likes long walks on the beach but the neighbourhood will do just fine too. Wicked swing dancer and great fun at parties and his favourite party trick is to swallow any socks he can get his mutts on. Mel is his best friend.

Reece Straiton

About My Role

Reece plays a pivotal role at Silverstone Composites, optimising our team’s efficiency and effectiveness by aligning work with each technician’s strengths to meet customer deadlines. He’s also a dedicated coach, resolving issues to ensure timely completion of projects. Beyond his day-to-day, Reece enthusiastically supports the Silverstone Park Schools Programme, inspiring Year 8 and 9 students by sharing his experiences and encouraging them to pursue a career in engineering.

Outside of Work

Reece, a family man at heart, balances his love for yoga and nature walks with a passion for Manchester United FC and socialising with friends and colleagues. A fan of races and concerts at Silverstone Circuit, he dreams of owning a Rolls Royce and a 1967 Corvette Stingray. At work, Reece is known for organising fun events like the annual ‘Great British Bake Off’ competition.

Ed Brown

Composite Technician

About My Role

Ed has been employed, since 2021, as a Trainee Composite Technician and with his enthusiastic approach and keenness to learn has progressed onto manufacturing more complex components. Additionally, Ed has recently been trained on how to load components in the companies autoclaves and will shortly be taking responsibility for the same on a daily basis. Ed qualified earlier this year (2023) to become a first aider in the factory.

Outside of Work

Hobbies include computer games and socialising with friends. Interests include cars, and he loves the VW T1 Campervans! Ed has travelled to Machu Picchu in Peru and would like to visit the other six wonders of the work and he is a football fan.

Ben Justice

Composite Technician

About my Role

Ben has ten years’ experience as a composite technician and joined the company two years ago.

Outside of Work

Ben likes fast cars and enjoys motorsport, especially Le Mans, V8 Supercars, an Australian touring racing car series, and would love to own a classic Porsche 964 Turbo. Ben’s hobbies include snowboarding ‘off-piste’, and his favourite ski resort is Val Thorens in France, better known as the ‘Three Valleys’. Ben’s other hobby is off-road mountain biking, and he enjoys travelling, with Australia being his favourite destination so far. Some of the countries still on Ben’s bucket list include Japan, Central America, and Vietnam and Cambodia.
